A delicious collection of Arabic spices, including Za'atar and Sumach as featured in Ottolenghi  - the Cookbook - written by the Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi.  This London based restaurant draws on numerous culinary traditions from Persia to California, focusing particularly on the Mediterranean. The book was kind enough to mention us in regard to buying sumac and za’atar. All the spices and the pomegranate molasses, come in one of the Steenbergs jute tote bags.

Za'atar is a spice blend, particularly popular in the Lebannon and Syria. A vertatile blend of sumac, tyme and sesame seeds.

Ras al hanut - our popular Morroccan blend that combines over 20 different spices to create a flavoursome and fruit spicy mix - including rose petals and saffron.

Sumac is a key ingredient in Middle Eastern cooking and our sumac is pure and salt free.

Organic Chermoula is a delicious Moroccan spice blend that melds the earthy tastes of cumin and turmeric with the sweetness of paprika and classic mediterranean herbs.

Organic Baharat is a blend containing paprika, black pepper, cumin, cloves and cardamom powder. Baharat which actually means 'spices' in Arabic is very versatile and is great with lamb, chicken and fish.

Organic Lebanese 7 Spice is another classic Arabic blend lending itself to almost any foods but quite delicious with chicken or fish.

Organic Dukkah is a blend of chickpeas, coriander seeds, cumin and sunflower seeds. Traditionally eaten as a dip with olive oil - but great as a crust on fish or sprinkled on potatoes.

Organic Harissa with Rose is a spicy, red hot chilli blend from North Africa with the added flamboyance of organic rose petals.

Barberries - dried fruit, delicious in Persian rice dishes.

Marigold Pomegranate molasses - Delicious as a marinade for meat and fish, a salad dressing or diluted as a cordial.

Saffron - our saffron comes from a Spanish family run firm that has being going since 1880 used both for flavour and colour. Saffron is literally worth its weight in gold!

Arabian Nights- Green tea infused with cinnamon, flowers and spices. This is one of Steenbergs prettiest loose leaf teas, with hibiscus, orange flowers and rose petals blended into the mix of cinnamon, green tea, lemon verbena and white downy tea. A relaxing drink that you can drink all day and into the evening. It's quickly become a favourite with us at Steenbergs.
