Sacred Cacao: Bitter + Sour
The cacao husk used in Rasa Teas comes from organic small-holder farms in Chililique, Peru and Maya Mountain, Belize. The method of agroforestry means that these trees are grown as a companion to other plants and wildlife, encouraging biodiversity. Cacao trees are in fact well suited to growing in the shade and therefore make for an easy addition to a thriving ecosystem, composing of giant and tiny flora alike. Heirloom variety trees are those that have not been genetically modified, instead, they encapsulate a much richer historic, nutritional and flavoursome profile.
Cacao provides the bitter taste which is cleansing for the body and since the beans are fermented, we can benefit from the sour taste which is stimulating for the whole digestive system as well as the mind.
Madagascan Vanilla: Sweet + Astringent
Luxurious vanilla pod cannot be matched by any synthetic attempt to recreate the flavour. Organic Madagascan vanilla provides a depth of flavour to the Chocolate Vanilla Rasa Teas – one ideally suited to the chocoholics! These too go through a post-harvesting fermentation process, spanning over several weeks to extract the highest quality flavour; rich, mellow, creamy and intensely perfumed.
Ingredients: cacao husk (98%)*, Madagascan vanilla
*Fairly sourced from Chillique, Peru and Maya Mountain, Belize
