Unlike flavoured oils which are made by adding extracts this extra virgin olive oil is truly married with the scent and flavour of basil by stone milling olives and fresh basil together.
The DeCarlo family have farmed and milled olives for many generations in the Conca di Bari area of PUglia, on the heel of Italy.
To make this oil they stone mill about 35 to 40 kgs of their own organically grown fresh basil, together with every 100 kilos of hand picked, organic Ogliarola variety olives from tehir estate.
The result is a truly delicious and perfumed basil elixir, a rich green extra virgin oil which makes an irresistible condiment for rice, pasta, fish or salads.
