Yellow Split Peas Organic 500g Dried Suma details and description

Organic Yellow Split Peas are dried, halved pigeon peas or toor dal.  Organic Yellow Split Peas are a staple in the Caribbean for rice dishes and soups; in Indian cuisine, where they are called matar ki daal, and in Guyana and Trinidad food for their versions of dhal.

Suggestion for eating organic yellow split peas: rinse thoroughly, bring to boil in fresh water, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Cooking time can be reduced if pre-soaked for 1-2 hours.

No pre-soaking needed. Rinse well, add plenty of cold water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until tender, drain and add to your favourite recipe.
