Organic Virgin Olive Oil stone milled with fresh organic mandarins from Italy.
This organic stone milled extra virgin oil, combines some local flavours of Puglia, is intended as a condiment to dress raw or cooked foods. Its flavour and influence is mainly carried in their perfume and they add a wonderful subtlety to dishes.
Unlike most flavoured oils which have extracts added to the oil, this extra virgin olive oil is totally infused with the warm sweet perfume and flavour of juicy mandarins by stone milling olives and fresh mandarins together.
Made in Puglia, southern Italy, by Saverio and Grazia De Carlo whose families have farmed and milled olives for generations, this certified organic oil is produced using hand picked Ogliarola olives and really fresh local organic fruit. Grazia chose a wild mandarin variety used nowadays only as a pollinator, because it has an intense perfume which is imparted to the oil.
The Ogliarola olive is an old fashioned Puglia variety producing a delicate oil which enhances the subtle flavour of warm fruity mandarins.
This oil makes a wonderful dressing for vegetables and sea food. It is also tasty when used in baking.
Unlike most flavoured oils made with added extracts, the olives and fresh fruit in these oils are stone milled together. With the natural perfume and flavour of mandarins, they make delicious dressings for raw and cooked vegetables or sea food and are great as dipping oils.
