Chestnut Raw Honey from Italy, packed by Seggiano.  Seggiano makes exquisite cold extracted mono-varietal Italian honeys, unfiltered, unpasteurised and bottled by the beekeeper - Mauro Pagliaccia.

Mauro Pagliaccia, biology teacher and passionate beekeeper of some 500 hives. He feels that the success of his prodigious production of excellent mono-floral honeys is achieved through ensuring that the queen bee is at the peak of her strength and vigour in the flowering season of the chosen plant variety. The careful husbandry of hs bee families, cold extraction of the their honey and Mauro's personal pride in its excellence ensure natural, raw honeys of rare taste and quality.

Chestnut raw honey is a distinctive honey, with a sophisticated hint of bitterness of "amaro".  Chestnut raw honey is prized by the Italian palate, is made from the nectars of spring flowering sweet chestnut trees, which populate the mountains of southern Tuscany and Umbria.

Chestnut raw honey is a delicious Tuscan tradition for dessert, to combine chestnut honey with thin slices of pecorino cheese and pears. The rich characteristic flavours from this raw chestnut honey add distinction to any dish.

Seggiano donate a percentage of the price of this honey to fund the bee colongy collapse research. Go to www.helpthehoneybees.comfor more information on how we can reserach and help stop the world's honey bee colonies from mysteriously vanishing.
