Steenbergs are introducing for Christmas 2013 these lovely handcrafted luxury spices mixes in muslin pouches designed for mulling red wine.

Steenbergs has created a delicious blend of organic cinnamon, organic orange peel, organic ginger, organic clove and organic allspice carefully balancing the flavours and presenting them in these very traditional little muslin pouches or pouchettes.

Each tin has 7 pouches 55g.

What to do to create mulled wine: Put one of the pouches into a saucepan with 100ml of water and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Stir and bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Stir and bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 mintues. Add 1 bottle of red wine (75cl), 1 tablespoon of brandy (optional) one sliced orange and one sliced lemon. Heat up and to just below boiling point and stir. Serve warm in mugs or pouches.

Ingredients: organic cinnamon, organic orange peel, organic ginger, organic clove and organic allspice
