Wonderful Burgers

The ultimate burger for me would be a thick flavoursome burger using mince that is not too lean to give a good taste, tucked inside a warm bread roll, ciabatta or a toasted brioche alongside sliced tomatoes, iceburg and sauce, and a large napkin!!!!!!

Serves 4


What to do

  1. If you're making your own seasoning, mix these thoroughly in a small bowl.
  2. Mix together the beef, onion and chilli chilpotle. Form the mix into 4 - 6 flattish rounds. Rub all over with the seasoning mix. Cover the burgers and refrigerate for 1 hour. Mix together the Worcester sauce and sunflower oil, if you're barbecuing the burgers.
  3. Prepare the barbecue or heat 1tbsp of sunflower oil in heavy bottomed frying pan. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes for each side or more until cooked to your preference (3 minutes for rare). If cooking on a barbecue, mop the burgers when you turn them over with Worcester sauce/ oil mix.
  4. Serve the burgers between freshly baked bread, ideally sourdough. Try a bite before reaching for a sauce, especially if you've used a high quality organic beef.
