White Tea Stars; 45g 70 stars details and description
White Tea Stars are cute little hand-tied stars of white tea that have been made in Fukian Province in China. These stars were first made sometme in the late 1400s in Fuding in the North East of Fujian, which is the centre of crafted artisan teas. In the Manchu Dynasty, these were selected as royal tribute from Fuding to the Manchu Emperors. The base white tea is Fuding Big White Tea Tips and comes from Rui Yun Tea Base. After the leaves have been steamed and when still damp, they are hand-stitched into these special 5 pointed stars. When brewed, Steenbergs' White Tea Stars have a pale yellowy green colour and a delicate, clean taste with a grass-like flavour.
Tea brewing: Put 3 of the White Tea Stars into a teapot, or 1 White Tea Star per mug. Bring fresh water to boil, then after a 15 second wait pour over White Tea Stars, or at about 80oC/180oF. Steep for 3 - 5 minutes.
