Steenbergs – a people business

Steenbergs is a family run company with a small team who can sometimes seem faceless to the outside world. So I’ve decided to create a series of photo led blogs, about who and what is behind Steenbergs. This has been a long time coming, as Steenbergs seems to only employ people who are camera shy, so for some of them it has taken upwards of 5 years to agree to the photographs!
We do now have a few machines to help us smooth the process of creating, packing and labelling at Steenbergs, but we are very much still a people led organisation.
We’re starting with a typical morning at Steenbergs:

Marina and the rest of the team arrive to start the day.
With Jan having labelled all the products initially, Sue arrive to put on all the top labels, heat seals and translation labelling:
As well as finishing the labelling, Sue often helps case up products to go to shops as well:
Now time for Jan to start his main jobs of blending and machine packing. Jan’s big love is machines, and in a former life was an electrician, but copes with the fact that Steenbergs is all about hand blending and creating spices and teas with a hands on approach.
Here Jan is ensuring that the lavender sugar is well blended.
