Product Description

Steenbergs Organic Dukkah is our take on the classic North African mix. It should include roasted nuts but we’re nut free so we’ve created this blend without tree nuts.

We toast, grind and mix the spices, sunflower seeds and chickpeas all in house till they get lightly golden brown. This gives it a toasty nutty feel without the nuts.

Dukkah is great as a dip or sprinkled over salads or rubbed onto roasted vegetables. It’s a bit like a dry hummus mix – sprinkle over fried pitta bread for a delicious light snack.

A great way to enjoy dukkah is to dip freshly toasted pitta bread into olive oil , then dunking into dukkah. It’s great as a light snack like this. Dukkah also is a good coating for tofu, chicken and fish. Or sprinkle over salads or vegetables – see Recipe for Chicken Nuggets and Chips – Steenbergs.

Try adding dukkah to potatoes, cooked and tossed in hot oil – it just adds that little extra!
