Steenbergs Organic Earl Grey Tea

Steenbergs organic Earl Grey Tea is a deliciously light and fragrant scented organic black tea, based on the classic English floral tea. The story is that in 1830 the second Earl Grey was presented with the recipe for this tea during a diplomatic mission to China.

Steenbergs Earl Grey tea is a base of Orange Pekoe tea from the Uva Highlands in central Sri Lanka. It produces a pale liquor with a slightly astringent taste that works very well with the flowery Bergamot flavour. We add pure organic bergamot essential oil to this Ceylon tea to give a classic Earl Grey flavour.

Tea brewing: Boil freshly drawn water, then pour on the tea leaves. For a mug: Put 1 teaspoon per cup and steep for about 5 minutes. For a pot: Put 1 teaspoon per cup into the pot; steep for about 5 minutes. It’s up to you whether to add milk or sugar but don’t add too much milk.
