Steenbergs Organic Hibiscus Tea

Organic Hibiscus tea makes a lovely deep red infusion. Made from the flower, hibiscus tisane is naturally caffeine free. It has a slightly tart flavour that is lemony and cranberry-like, so sugar is often added to sweeten hibiscus infusions.

Hibiscus tea can be drunk cold and is a great base for iced teas or fruit punches or how about a hibiscus tequila cocktail.

Tea brewing: Boil freshly drawn water, then pour on the tea leaves. For a mug: Put 1 teaspoon per cup and steep for about 5 minutes. For a pot: Put 1 teaspoon per cup; steep for about 5 minutes.

Tasting notes: Tart, refreshing, lemony flavour with a definite sourness.
