Product Description

Steenbergs Organic Rogan Josh Spices is a classic dish from Northern India – Jammu and Kashmir. It’s a slow cooked rich lamb stew (or mutton) with the deep red colours of paprika and chilli as its core.

  • Our spice blend has rich red chilli and cayenne as the base,
  • and some turmeric for earthiness and yellowness.
  • To these, we mix in the warmth of ginger and the anise flavour of fennel.
  • Then, we fold in the aromatics – bay (instead of cinnamon leaves), cardamom, clove and mace.

Overall, Rogan Josh is a hot spice mix, with aromatic notes. Use it as the base for making a rogan josh sauce with loads of yoghurt and the best lamb you can find.
