Product Description

Organic Bird’s Eye Chilli are the most popular dried chilli in the UK. Often called peri peri or piri piri chillies. Organic Bird’s Eye Chillis are small, red and fiery hot chillis and should be used with caution. They pack a punch at around 100,000 Scoville Heat Units or 9/10 on a more generic scale.

Add 1 or 2 whole chillis to sauces or stewed meats to give them a kick. Alternatively grind with a mortar and pestle and add to soy sauce as a dip for Chinese snacks like a spring roll.

Steenbergs sources the best organic Bird’s Eye Chilli we can find, packing down in short batch runs for maximum spiciness. Bird’s eye chilli is small, pungent and decently hot, so is great to add pure heat to your cooking. Either grind down and disperse through your dish or add in whole and remove later so it infuse heat through a dish without leaving pieces.

Axel’s Tasting Notes: Bird’s Eye Chillis are hot, tasting of pure heat. We think they’re best added at the end of cooking to give a finishing heat to the recipe.
