Capers are pickled buds and provide an intense salty flavour when used as a garnish or flavouring. They are particularly used in Southern Italian and Sicilian cooking and work well in salads, pizzas, pasta, vegetable and meat dishes, also works well with fish, including fish pies in fact pretty much everything that you want a pickled umami hit. Storage: store in a cool, dry place (once opened keep refrigerated and consume within 10 days).
