Steenbergs Organic Ground Cloves are great in baking cakes and biscuits, or in a sweet marinade for ham before roasting. Its flavour is pungent, medicinal and cleansing.
We source the best quality Organic Cloves Ground and packing it in small batches in North Yorkshire for optimal freshness. It has a strongly aromatic woodiness that goes well in curries, or pork, or pop into your mulled wine. Cloves Ground go well in baking, like a Yorkshire Pepper Cake or a Clove and Sugar Cookie.
Axel’s Tasting Notes: Pungent: intensely medicinal with a warming woody, sweetness. Combining well with other spices, such as allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, chilli, coriander, ginger and fennel, we use cloves a lot in our blending.
Use sparingly though because it’s a powerful taste.
