Product Description
Genmaicha is a popular Japanese tea which is made from green tea and roasted brown rice. Genmaicha’s umami taste comes from the flavours of the green tea and the toasted brown rice. The rice sometimes bursts open like popcorn, so it’s also known as ‘Popcorn Tea’.
Tea brewing: One level teaspoon per person into a pot or mug filter, add freshly drawn boiling water that’s cooled down a little (85C). Brew for about 4 – 5 minutes.
Tasting notes: a mix of coarse green tea leaves and toasted brown rice. The brew is pale green, with flavours that are lightly herbaceous with mildly burnt finish.
