Steenbergs Organic Korma Curry Powder is our recreation of the spices needed for this classic from the repertoire of Moghul Indian cuisine. Korma originated from Persia, then Korma was developed further in the Islamic courts of the Moghul Emperors during the 16th to 19th centuries. Traditional kormas are rich dishes, using lots of expensive spices and nuts – cardamom, nutmeg, saffron and nuts – mixed into a rich sauce using yoghurt. Steenbergs Organic Korma Masala is based on a recipe from the kitchens of Nizam of Hyderabad from the British Colonial period.
