Steenbergs Organic Chana Masala curry powder is one of Steenbergs’ authentic spice blends that only uses natural ingredients.

Chana Masala curry mix has been created to balance with chickpeas for an authentic Indian chickpea curry. Chana Masala is one of Sophie’s favourite curries – well anything with chickpeas works for her. One of our favourite curry dishes, which we enjoy eaten with poori or other flatbread, with a squeeze of lemon juice.

It’s based on the street curries of Delhi. Chana Masala has coriander and cumin seeds and turmeric at its heart. Warmth comes from chilli and ginger. A fresh pungency is from the sharpness of onion and garlic plus bay. Finally, it’s rounded off with sweet, aromatic spices – cardamom and organic cinnamon. There’s a little sea salt to bring it all together and enhance the flavour profile.

Chana Masala was one of Axel’s first curry mixes from back in 2004 and is core to vegetarian and vegan living.
