Steenbergs Organic Garam Masala

Steenbergs Organic Garam Masala is one of Steenbergs’ Signature Spice blends that only uses natural ingredients and was developed by us over 20 years ago.

Steenbergs Organic Garam Masala has been created as the base for many types of curries or, as we use it as a tempering spice mix. It helps to add back flavours that can get lost during cooking, so you’ve got the sweet cinnamon and cardamom, characteristic curry notes of cumin and coriander with a touch of pepper.

Steenbergs Organic Garam Masala is almost a sweet blend based around Punjabi recipes that lacks the characteristic “curry” notes of cumin , coriander and turmeric, making it a very versatile organic curry/spice blend.

This spice blend combines the sweet spice – cinnamon – and the pungent spices – caraway , cloves and cardamom powder. At Steenbergs, we add some wonderful organic black pepper from organic growers in India to give it some bite. Then, Axel has used organic fennel seeds to bring the flavours together and add some anise tones to the blend. Love it.
