Steenbergs Organic Tagine Spice Mix is a premium Moroccan-style spice blend. It recreates the warming, spicy flavours of Moroccan tagines, the traditional Moroccan casserole, with this highly aromatic blend of sweet and hot spices. Steenbergs Organic Tagine Spice mix is one of Steenbergs’ authentic spice blends that only uses natural ingredients.

Steenbergs Organic Tagine Spice Mix resembles Baharat, which is the everyday spice blend of North Africa across to the Levant. The main difference is that it doesn’t include black pepper.

So, we hand-blend the heat of organic chilli and paprika, with the sweet spices of cinnamon and allspice, then we add in the aromatic flavours of clove and cardamom. This melange is brough together with the earthy, citrus flavours of coriander seed. Steenbergs Organic Tagine Spice blends together hot and sweet spices that work well with the sweetness of dried fruits, which are characteristic of a tagine, especially the gamey flavours of lamb. Totally delicious!

How to use: add one tablespoon to a tagine for 4 – 6 people. Tagine Spices work brilliantly with tagines, whether with a vegetable or tofu base, or slow-cooked with lamb, pigeon or chicken.
