Pink Himalayan Salt is light to dark pink, it’s a pure rock salt that is salty with a slight mineral body and a pungent taste. Use like normal salt for example pasta water or grind over tomatoes for a classic tomato salad.

Himalayan pink salt is mined from salt deposits in the Potwar Plateau of Pakistani Punjab.  This salt comes from an ancient sea salt deposit in sedimentary rock dating back 290-543 million years ago – so it is old.

There are about 6.7 billion tons of rock salt, of which 220 million are currently commercially viable. That’s a lot of salt.
