Steenbergs Organic Herbes De Provence

Steenbergs Organic Herbes de Provence is our version of this classic French herb mix. What makes it special is the mix of pungent herbaceous flavours of dried herbs with the bitter floral notes of lavender flowers.

Herbes de Provence is perfect to flavour oven-roasted vegetables, halloumi, salads, tomatoes, salad dressings, egg dishes, on top of toasted herby bread and with meat and game – basically with everything. It goes really well with any dish that’s slow cooked with red wine.

It’s got the pungency of mixed herbs and bouquet garni which is mellowed with tarragon and lavender.

The core herb mix of Steenbergs organic Herbes de Provence is Thyme with its characteristic sharpness and Bay with its camphor tones. Marjoram and Parsley add for freshness, giving it hay-like flavours. These are softened by mixing in the anise flavour of tarragon and the floral bitterness of lavender flowers.

Guide for Use: 2 – 3 tsp per 400 g of vegetables or meat.
