Wonderful Burgers Recipe

Ingredients
For the recipe:
- 900g freshly ground beef, avoiding leaner meat
- ½ medium onion, chopped
- 1 chilli chilpotle, chopped finely (optional or reduce/increase to taste)
- 4tbsp Steenbergs One-derful Rub or American BBQ or make your own seasoning mix:
- 2tbsp organic paprika
- 2tsp organic black pepper, ground
- 1tsp Steenbergs Organic 's natural sea salt
- ½ tsp organic cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- ½ tsp organic garlic powder
- ½ tsp organic onion powder
- 3tbsp organic Worcester sauce
- 3tbsp sunflower oil
The ultimate burger for me would be a thick flavoursome burger using mince that is not too lean to give a good taste, tucked inside a warm bread roll, ciabatta or a toasted brioche alongside sliced tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and sauce, and a large napkin!!!!!!

Method
01
If you're making your own seasoning, mix these thoroughly in a small bowl.
02
Mix together the beef, onion and chilli chilpotle. Form the mix into 4 - 6 flattish rounds. Rub all over with the seasoning mix. Cover the burgers and refrigerate for 1 hour. Mix together the Worcester sauce and sunflower oil, if you're barbecuing the burgers.
03
Prepare the barbecue or heat 1tbsp of sunflower oil in heavy bottomed frying pan. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes for each side or more until cooked to your preference (3 minutes for rare). If cooking on a barbecue, mop the burgers when you turn them over with Worcester sauce/ oil mix.
04
Serve the burgers between freshly baked bread, ideally sourdough. Try a bite before reaching for a sauce, especially if you've used a high quality organic beef.
