Product Description

First Flush Darjeeling from Puttabong Estate is a classic first flush tea – it’s loose leaf, clean and fresh with a lovely sweet meadow aroma and taste. Originally planted in 1852, the Puttabong Tea Estate is on the border with Sikkim. This tea is SFTGFOP1. Axel Steenberg’s tasting comment: ‘It’s one of the most delicious Darjeeling I’ve tasted for a couple of years and is a real treat. It is light, fresh, full of fruity and silky vanillary rich notes.’

Tea brewing: Put 1 teaspoon of Puttabong tea leaves per cup. bring fresh water to the boil, leave to cool slightly (15-30 seconds to about 85C) and then pour over the Puttabong tea leaves. Allow to brew for 3 minutes.

Tasting notes: Amber yellow liquor; Mild, woody, new mown grass, with hints of ripe fruits and vanilla.
