Steenbergs Organic Lebkuchen Spice Mix is a traditional German baking flavour. Blended and created at Steenbergs spice factory in rural North Yorkshire.
Axel Steenberg remembers the smells of German Christmas biscuits and cakes from his childhood. His mother, being German, used to make her own stollen and lebkuchen – the traditional Christmas biscuits from Nuremburg. A touch of her home in Northumberland – this was way before these biscuits were easy to get in the UK.
Steenbergs Organic Lebkuchen Spice Mix a complex baking spice mix, heavily dependent on the sweet notes of cinnamon. To this, we add strong sweet spices of allspice and cardamom and pungent aromatics of nutmeg and mace. For us, cloves is one of the key Christmas flavours that comes through.

Glass: Reuse, Widely Recycled. Metal Lid: Reuse, Widely Recycled. To remove the labels: the best way is to apply heat with a hairdryer and then they peel off.
