Organic Fairtrade Mixed Spice is our only Fairtrade spice mix and is a simple mix of spices from Sri Lanka, rather than the more complex Mixed Spice that's our standard blend. It's a nutmeg-cinnamon core with the heat of ginger, then a smaller amount of clove to add those camphorous notes.

Product Description

Steenbergs Organic Fairtrade Mixed Spice is one of Steenbergs’ Signature Baking Spice blends. It uses only natural, organic ingredients, showcasing our organic and Fairtrade spices.

Steenbergs Organic Fairtrade Mixed Spice is a blend of sweet spices for flavouring cakes, biscuits, sweet pies, pastries for everyday baking. Its core is sweet pungent and woody spices that have a wonderful fragrant flavour that powers through baking.

It reminds us, also, of Christmas – from Christmas cake through to Christmas pudding and those wonderful warm smells of mince pies and mulled wine mixed in with the aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and the great camphor-like flavours of cloves.

Great for Thanksgiving baking as well so use in Pumpkin Pie.

Steenbergs gets its Fairtrade organic spices from smallholders in Sri Lanka. We import them direct a few times a year.

Glass: Reuse, Widely Recycled. Metal Lid: Reuse, Widely Recycled. To remove the labels: the best way is to apply heat with a hairdryer and then they peel off.
