Steenbergs Organic Assam Tea

Steenbergs organic Assam Tea is a classic ‘British’ tea – vigorous, spicy, tannic and astringent and likes a drop of milk.

Because it’s an orthodox leaf tea, it’s a bit lighter than the CTC Assam teas you get in supermarkets. Steenbergs organic Assam tea is a broken orange pekoe leaf and the leaves are a rich brown colour with a few golden tips through it. Assam makes a good, old fashioned brew, without too much bitterness.

Tea brewing: Use a warmed tea-pot and per mug or person (please note: the mug and person are not one and the same). Add freshly drawn, boiling water, steep for 4 – 5 minutes according to taste. Enjoy with or without milk.

Tasting notes: coppery brew, strong, malty, astringent.
