Steenbergs Organic Harissa With Rose is a spicy red hot chilli blend from North Africa. To which we have added the flamboyant twist of organic rose petals.

Steenbergs organic Harissa blend was one of our early blends. In 2015, Axel decided to add rose to the mix,  so the whole recipe needed rebalancing. We ended out with two versions rather than one, both of which are amazing.

At Steenbergs Organic we have created a more complex organic harissa than Steenbergs standard organic harissa – Steenbergs Organic Harissa with Rose is our interpretation of this North African blend from Tunisia.

Steenbergs Organic Harissa With Rose is a hot blend of organic crushed chillies together with organic caraway, organic coriander and organic cumin. To this, Steenbergs has added that heady Arabic aroma of organic Damask rose buds.

Place organic harissa with rose on the table to add heat to any meal, or rub it onto chicken as a marinade, or sprinkle on yoghurt served alongside baba ghanoush with some pitta bread – delicious.

Top Cooking Tips: add to roasted chickpeas; veggie stew; grilled fish; stock for couscous; Shakshuka; marinade for lamb/steak; dressing for bulgur wheat & chickpea salad; spicy pork; in Muhammara dip – nicely set off the vinegar/sharp notes; Butternut & harissa hummus; harissa and sweet potato wedges; spicing for North African stews, mixed with olive oil for marinade for fish, chicken, meat and kebabs; puy lentil salad dressing; tagine; griddled veg; patatas bravas; pork steak and couscous.
