A New Look for Our Loose Leaf Teas

Four boxes of Steenbergs new look herbal teas reflecting the emphasis on nature. with loose leaf tea on spoons in front.

Inspired by nature, blended in North Yorkshire

If you’re a regular Steenbergs tea drinker, you may have noticed something rather different appearing in the tea cupboard.

Our loose leaf teas have a new look.

We’ve been blending loose leaf teas for more than 20 years, so this is much more than a packaging update. We wanted the new boxes to say something about who we are, where our ingredients come from and our connection with the natural world.

The result is a colourful collection inspired by Britain’s landscapes and wildlife, created to reflect the colour, character and natural ingredients you’ll find inside.

Tea has always been part of the Steenbergs story

When we started Steenbergs in North Yorkshire in 2003, spices were at the heart of the business. But tea was never very far away.

Many spices are grown alongside tea and coffee, sometimes providing the shade trees beneath which they grow, so our relationships with spice growers naturally led us towards tea too.

Over the years, our collection has grown to encompass traditional black and green teas as well as an extensive selection of herbal teas and infusions.

Today, we create and blend our teas here at our production facility in rural North Yorkshire.

As Axel explains:

“Tea has always been part of the Steenbergs story. Our journey began through our spice growers, where spices are often grown as shade trees on tea plantations. Over time, that connection grew into a full tea range rooted in craftsmanship and respect for nature.”

 What’s inside the new collection?

There are 20 favourites in the newly designed range, with a particular focus on our herbal teas.

You’ll find simple single-ingredient infusions including:

alongside some of our favourite blends.

  1. Organic Happy Hippy brings together chamomile, mint and rose petals,
  2. while Organic Double Mint combines peppermint and spearmint for a wonderfully fresh cup.

For those who prefer something more traditional, there’s Organic English Breakfast, Organic Earl Grey and Organic Assam, plus green teas including Organic Jasmine Green Tea and Organic Gunpowder Green Tea.

And if you like the ritual of a breakfast brew but prefer to avoid caffeine, Organic Morning Brew is our redbush-based herbal alternative.

Proper loose leaf tea

There is something pleasingly simple about loose leaf tea. You can see the ingredients, choose exactly how much you want to brew and give the leaves and herbs space to infuse properly. There’s also the small ritual of making it: spooning out the leaves, adding the water and waiting for the flavours to develop.

It might take a fraction longer than dropping a teabag into a mug, but sometimes that is rather the point.

For us, the new collection brings together many of the things Steenbergs cares about: organic ingredients, real flavour, thoughtful sourcing and an appreciation of nature.

Same teas. Same North Yorkshire blending. Just a brighter new home for them.
