Steenbergs Turmeric Powder - Recent Heavy Metals Test Results
Steenbergs organic turmeric heavy metals levels are well below the maximum guidance levels. Lead levels in range 0.065 - 0.232 ppm.

Turmeric comes from a rhizome that's peeled, dried and then ground down. Steenbergs sources organic turmeric mainly from India and Sri Lanka and sometimes from Indonesia.
We test the organic turmeric for various potential chemical contaminants on a random basis and through time, which has enabled us to build up a picture of our suppliers. So, we don't test for all things all the time, because it's unnecessary as we have built up a profile of where we get the raw ingredients from and because it's random sampling you can never get an absolute result - it's about proving that suppliers operate within minimum levels for public safety. So, for heavy metals that's less than 2 ppm (2 mg/kg).
Heavy metals is a hot take at the moment. We have never found high levels in organic turmeric. Recent results (by Eurofins) are below:
