Barbecued Chicken Wings Recipe
BBQ chicken wings is a tasty summer dish, this version features the Steenbergs Organic American BBQ spice mix with all its smokey flavours.
Ingredients
| 2kg | chicken wings |
| 3tsp | organic American BBQ seasoning |
| 120ml | organic sunflower oil |
| 100ml | water |
| 2tsp | Steenbergs organic American BBQ seasoning |
| 2tbsp | organic tomato puree |
| 75g | organic runny honey |
| 4 | garlic cloves, smashed and finely sliced |
| 6tbsp | organic white wine vinegar |
| 2tbsp | organic Worcestershire sauce |
| 1tsp | organic wholegrain mustard |
| 4tbsp | organic sunflower oil |
| 1 | organic bay leaf |
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 200°C and get the barbecue started.
- Coat the chicken wings in the American BBQ seasoning and leave for at least 30 minutes. Pour over half the oil, coating the wings well. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes.
- While cooking in the oven, mix all the other ingredients in a small pan and bring to the boil. Brush the chicken wings the sauce and return to the oven for 15 minutes. Brush the wings with the sauce, and then grill on a hot barbecue for 5 minutes each side.
- You could cook the wings on a barbecue throughout, but make sure the barbecue is not too hot and cook the meat slowly and right through.
