Created in the 1970s from a family recipe, Old Hamlet's sugar and spice mixes for mulled wine, spiced cider and whisky toddy have been enjoyed by thousands over the years - simple and delicious.

Mulled Wine:
Ingredients: Sugar, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Clove.

Directions for Mulled Wine: Pour one 75cl bottle of red wine and a small glass of orange juice (optional) into a saucepan, then add the contents of one Mulled Wine sachet; or 1½ teaspoons per glass. Heat gently, stirring occasionally. Do not let boil, but serve hot. For special occasions, add 1 tablespoon of brandy or liqueur and slices of fresh orange. For a non-alcoholic alternative, replace red wine with apple or cranberry juice.
Hot Cider:
Ingredients: Sugar, Cinnamon, Cloves, Allspice.

Directions for Mulling Cider: Add contents of one Old Hamlet Mulled Cider Sachet to 1 litre of cider or apple juice in a pan. Heat gently, stirring occasionally. Do not boil. Serve piping hot in mugs or heatproof glasses.
Whisky Toddy:
Ingredients: Sugar, Ginger, Nutmeg.

Directions for Whisky Toddy: Stir contents of one sachet of Old Hamlet Whisky Toddy Spices into 450 ml or a quarter pint cold water. Heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil and remove off the heat instantly. Add two drams or 50 ml of whisky, stir and enjoy.
