Organic beetroot powder is as simple as it sounds - organic red beetroot is cleaned, peeled and dried, then ground down into a fine powder. It is not as richly red coloured as the fresh root vegetable, but is still a deep, purple in colour and has a sweet and pleasant flavour that does not impact the overall taste of the dish.

Organic beetroot powder is used as a natural colouring and is especially effective for tandoori and tikki masala recipes, where it gives you some of that red colour without resorting to nasty chemicals.
