Although some people love sprouts, there was a need to add a little interest to them in order to see them enjoyed by everyone at the table in our family! Sometimes I add bacon too for a little extra colour.
Brussel Sprouts with Caraway Recipe
Love them or hate them brussel sprouts definitely divide opinons, try this recipe for a different twist.
Ingredients
| 500g | Brussel sprouts |
| 1/2 | juice of a lemon |
| 25g | melted butter |
| 1 | tbs Extra Virgin olive oil |
| 1 tbsp | Organic Caraway seeds |
| 1/2 tsp | Steenbergs Perfect salt |
Method
- Cut the bottom off the sprout and remove a couple of outer leaves if damaged
- Blanch in boiling water for 4 minutes
- Melt the butter and olive oil in a heavy bottomed pan
- Add the brussels and cook for 2 minutes, according to 'crunch' required of the sprouts. Add perfect salt and caraway seeds and toss before serving
