Meet our Stockist - Hedgehog Organics

Hedgehog Organics is a fabulous shop and box delivery service dedicated to the best locally sourced organic food, drinks and provisions and is located in the heart of the community in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

Partners and founders Ben and Maria were keen to stress that Hedgehog Organics (named after Ben, and now Maria’s, love of the prickly creatures) is more than just a shop. It’s a hub “selling local food which helps to support small, local growers and makers, maintains jobs and builds resilience into our otherwise fragile global food system”.

Tell us a bit about Hedgehog Organics?

Organic – The majority of the produce is certified organic (including the lovely Steenbergs loose leaf teas and spices!) or producers are personally visited to ensure organic farming methods. “Organic agriculture cares for the soil, which helps wildlife and absorbs and retains carbon, so that humans get to stick around on the planet longer. We think that as energy and chemical inputs become costlier, organic will in time become the norm once again.”
Great range of produce – stocked items include fruit & veg, chilled & dairy, wholefoods, toiletries, refills, bread and gifts
Local box deliveries – using their electric van, Hedgehog Organics deliver regular grocery boxes using food sourced from local independent growers. Boxes and deliveries can be customised, and customers can choose from a great selection of food, drinks, toiletries and refills.
Minimising packaging waste – refills are available on toiletries and household cleaning and customers are encouraged to add their empty bottles to their regular box deliveries.
More than just a shop – along with the well-stocked shelves, local box deliveries and refills, look out for in-store teachings and tastings that include Britta’s sauerkraut class or check out the delicious recipes on their website.
