Organic Yellow Split Peas are dried, halved pigeon peas or toor dal.  Organic Yellow Split Peas are a staple in the Caribbean for rice dishes and soups; in Indian cuisine, where they are called matar ki daal, and in Guyana and Trinidad food for their versions of dhal.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Suggestion for eating organic yellow split peas: rinse thoroughly, bring to boil in fresh water, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Cooking time can be reduced if pre-soaked for 1-2 hours.

No pre-soaking needed. Rinse well, add plenty of cold water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until tender, drain and add to your favourite recipe.

Storage instructions:

Keep in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, store in an airtight container.
